Quantum Growth contains several species of photosynthetic organisms.  Our products are formulated with photosynthetics because they provide energy to plants and turf and the beneficial soil microbes.  More energy equals more growth, blooms and healthier plants.

How do the photosynthetic organisms provide energy for plants and turf ?
•Most people don't realize how little energy a plant can actually obtain from sunlight.  Only 45% of the sunlight that reaches the ground is in the correct wavelength for photosynthesis (see diagram on the right).  Photosynthesis is, at the very best, 25% efficient, so only 11% of the sunlight is even theoretically available.  Depending on the type of plants or turf, 50-75% of that energy is lost due to factors such as reflection, conversion inefficiencies or other factors.  That leaves only a 3-6% energy conversion efficiency for a plant!  Quantum Growth is the only product on the market with the photosynthetic, nitrogen fixing bacterium Rhodospirillum rubrum.  This organism can use a wider spectrum of the sun's energy for photosynthesis, and is much more efficent than plants at performing photosynthesis.  This means more energy for your plants and turf!
•Of that 3-6% of the sunlight that is useable, plants will exude from 20%-40% of their energy into the soil (the rhizosphere) to feed the microbes - demonstrating how important these beneficial organisms are! 
•In the soil environment, or the soil food web, photosynthetic organisms are the primary producers of energy for the system.  Without these organisms at the bottom of the food chain, none of the other organisms would survive.  To rebuild and maintain a healthy soil environment for your crops or turf, adding the base organisms that feed the rest of the soil food web makes the most sense.  If you wanted to build a forest, would you add deer before you added any plants for them to feed on?  Of course not.  You would start with the bottom of the forest food chain - the photosynthetic plants that provide energy and food to the deer, which feed the other predators in the forest.  In your garden or on your lawn, adding the photosynthetic organisms in Quantum Growth first (see diagram below) is the best way to build healthy soil, plants and turf.
